Introducing Me

Who am I? I am girl who loves my island, I am a girl who loves the sea. It calls me.

Just kidding, but wouldn’t you totally read Moana’s blog? I would.

Well, my name is Rebecca but you can call me Reb.

I’m a graduate from Cal State Northridge with a B.A. in Psychology. I wasn’t always a Psych major, though. I started out in English.

Why do I mention this? Besides for reassurance that changing your major is normal, the reason I’ve loved both of these majors is simple: analysis.

I started writing fiction (and fanfiction, we’ve all been there) from a young age and shifted to poetry in high school.

After years of hounding my friends, breaking down all my thoughts about movies and TV shows, I realized I wanted to write about this and maybe I can find something someone else hasn’t seen. At the very least, keep everything I’ve found in one place for anyone else who has at least a dozen tabs open about the same movie at any one time.

The first movie I officially wrote about was Jordan Peele’s Us, when I spent three days ignoring (most of) my responsibilities to write a 20+ page Google doc analysis of the symbolism and meanings in the film.

That post can be found here. I have much more coming, from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, to Game of Thrones, to Sorry to Bother You, just to name a few.

Beyond movies, I love analyzing different personality categories, from astrology to Myer-Briggs, to the color test, and more recently the Enneagram and numerology, so I may be posting about these as well.

I would love to connect with any other bloggers who write about these topics or any kind of entertainment analysis. I’d also love to connect with fellow psychology fiends.

I hope you enjoy the read! But more importantly, I hope you go out and write something, too.

Warm thoughts,

Reb
